It’s uh… been a while? I guess I should apologize for like… dying? Well, to be fair that’s kinda exactly what I have been doing. Dying. College was getting really hardcore in the last month and when I had free-time I usually wanted to spend it in a vegetative state as I watched YouTube videos.

However, I have a total of 4 final exams tomorrow, and after that, I’m 100% free from any more obligations for the next month/months (one semester left woo).

Yes, I still plan on translating Volume 11.

No, don’t plan on dropping Youkoso.

My “ETA” for V10 being done is like 1 month or some shit. Idk why you guys would even ask me for an ETA anymore at this point given my poor track-record with consistency and being able to properly evaluate my own workload/time approximations. I get really motivated sometimes and just crank out a ton in 2-3 days, and then other times it feels like a chore to even do a single page. I want this hobby to not make me pissed off or stressed, so I simply won’t let it and do things as I want to do them.

Instant Death was picked up by another group, go to them if you want to read more of that. I had fully intended to continue to translate Instant Death, but as I was about 60% through the next chapter I was linked to another group having picked it up. Apparently, the email they sent me got directed to the spam folder so I didn’t know anything about this so I ended up wasting a week or so of my time. After talking with them they don’t appear to be willing to drop it, so they will be handling it from now on. (Whether that’s for better or worse is up to you. It’s a matter of quality vs. quantity in my opinion. I’d like to translate it more, but it’s not something I’m thinking about much at this point.) (If I get enough comments asking me to continue, I’ll consider it, so please comment below.) Due to this, my focus will be on Youkoso entirely for the time being until I find another series (if I find another series) (no plans yet) (probably won’t be picking something else up).

I apologize for making y’all wait. I’ve said this before, but I will literally never just drop the series and drop off the face of the earth without saying anything well ahead of time. I respond to all comments on the posts here and I’m in Discord. If you want updates or reasons for my speed being slow, please ask. My response time is usually 0-4 days for comments here and about 10-15 minutes on Discord.

Just an FYI:

I’ll say this now just in case I haven’t before, but I will absolutely drop the series immediately once Seven Seas catches up to me or once I hear even the slightest bit of a DMCA or rumors of a DMCA coming my way. Once they translate one of my volumes, I will be taking down the respective volume in full.

Anyways, here is the intro to V10 Epilogue. Enjoy and look for more “soon“. (I’ll try to have a sizable amount done for Christmas as a gift or something.)

    • Thanks for all the translations. After a long week at college on a quarter system I’ve always appreciated reading an available chapter you’ve translated. I’m buying the books but can’t wait in anticipation. Thanks again.

  3. Honestly the official TL quality is much better and I don’t care about your translations anymore. Just a couple more years maybe 2 max and they’ll catch up to fan TL.

    You are really inconsistent and not like you owe anyone to translate. So that’s why we don’t care about you. Feel free to enjoy whatever life you have and know that even if you dropped the series the community will be happy because we have great TL our way.

      As a side note, I’m not sure how you’d be able to compare my translations against official translations, since nothing I’ve ever translated has been officially translated before other than V2C3P7 through V2C3P11, which I feel were pretty side-by-side comparable, but that’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion. Perhaps you were thinking I was the translator for the MTL of V1 and the first half of V2 that came from the previous translator of this website? Either way it’s fine with me!

        I don’t understand people giving off negative comments just because you’re busy or you need a break. I mean you’re willing to do this and we read for free (i dunno if you ask for donation but i’m willing to do so). Anyway, i don’t have anything against a few translation mistakes as long as we understand the point, no objections. Good work and thanks!

    • Wow so you get free translations that are of actual decent quality two years ahead of when the official translation would get released and that’s what you say. Man you must be fun to hang around with lol.

    • What a disgusting comment, you’re such an ungrateful person. It’s not like you’re paying him any money to tell him to be consistent. At least thank him for the previous translations you have read from him. And don’t assume that you’re a part of our community, go wait for your official translations that will come in “two years”. Your patience is a proof you don’t like this light novel that much, as expected from someone with your username(and I have a strong feeling that you’re just a 12 years old brat)

  7. I would love, in fact, that you continue to translate ID. The quality of your translation is pretty excellent.

    However, I always thought that you would give ID more space on your path and let it grow with great translations that didn’t take so long. Unfortunately an excellent quality although only being delivered in 2 or more months? While you basically own a well-known COTE series, which sometimes had 10 chapters or more until the next ID chapter?
    Wasn’t it really worth it to translate a few ID chapters a month and a few COTE chapters to keep mostly fans who already liked both of them and get even more fans? It doesn’t look exactly fair to ID fans.

    I would really love for you to keep translating … As long as you make room for ID to grow, because I myself, almost abandoned and forgot the work several times, thanks to the delay of new translations.

    • This is fair, and I agree with you. I definitely showed CotE an unfair amount of attention due to a lot of pressure from the community, even though I enjoyed translating ID more.

  8. Please continue on with Youkoso forever if you can. You are doing an awesome job and I cannot stress this enough. Asking you to do it more quickly would be mighty selfish on my part but I just love this novel very much. Thank you for all the hard work for the sake of us, I really appreciate it.

  10. I have waited patiently for your translation of COTE and will continue to do so. Your translation speed does not bother me so much. Don’t stress yourself out over this. I don’t know anyone else who is translating this series and I am happy to hear that you will not be dropping it. Also, I believe that your quality is great.

  11. Thanks for your hardworks graze-san. I feel relieve when you said that you not going to drop CoTE because i really love your translation so far. Thats why i never going to continue or try to read full of vol 10 MLT translation ( i find this and just check for a moment to see how far the english translation is) with the word i cant really describe who was talking about how sakayanagi, ichinose describe as he than using she, and simillar event which i cant understand whats going on,heck with that. Its just for 4-6 minutes and i feel like im done with this and continue to wait and read from graze-san translation only. Its because the quality, and i never find fun to read from that MLT translation even someone translate vol 10 into my country language.

    • I honestly don’t care about the speed as long as u finish COTE since your translations have a pretty good quality and I can’t rly buy the official vol translations even if they catch up it would rly be a shame to be unable to see the ending of a series I love a lot, however if it’s a burden to you or you’re not doing what you actually wanna do you should definitely prioritise yourself and what you wanna do. (Also the comments talking about the quality constantly I would rly like a reference of a translation that’s actually better if you’re gonna talk trash about the quality since it’s easy to say something without any proof)

  13. Thanks for the update. Is Seven Seas known for going on DMCA hunts? I actually do plan to buy to official releases but I would definitely enjoy the series more if I’m being updated with the content they haven’t got to yet. I’m someone who tends to reread things they like, I’ve already reread this and i’d read it again once I have the physical release,

  15. Kirito, you’re so dumb. You don’t even know that Seven Seas hasn’t translated anything the Graze has translated.
    Frankly, You should stop saying what you don’t know. You only despise him now because Seven Seas licensed YouJitsu.

    Of course, seven seas translations are better. They have a professional staff, unlike Graze. However, this is no reason to say what you said.

    In short, if you’re so dissatisfied why still bother to visit this site?

  18. I feel you (the feeling, especially after the exam, is so good so that you don’t want to do anything). I’m also in a senior year of my university in the US (sadly I still have MS to do, so next semester will not be the last for me). Thank for your great work! I did try to learn Japanese for a year in university but it didn’t come out so well… so this is probably the only way for me to read (until my local official (Thai) release catches up to JP one).

  19. I’m just gonna say this cause I think a lot of people have similiar the same thought as me
    A lot of us dont care about the speed, what matters to us is the quality. If you can maintain the quality from here on out, eho cares aput the speed. You can take as long as you like, or if you’re feeling too tired you can always take a break. We read this for free already so we cant possibly ask for more than this. As long as you continue to translate this series(until its over preferably), many of us will be happy with just that
