Update

Hello everyone. It’s been quite a while since I made a post on the main page. I usually just get so absorbed in other things that I forget to make posts here, but given that the last post is there saying that we just finished V11, I figured it’s about time to make another post.

We just finished with V14 of Youkoso Jitsuryoku, and we’re getting to work on V15 already. That can all be seen though the (rediculously long) TOC page. I’m starting to worry that the TOC might be too long. The comments have added up over the years, and I’m not exactly conservative of space with how I layout the volumes we’ve worked on. I could get into wordpress and spruce it up a bit, but honestly that would be a pain in the ass. I’d love to get someone to do it for me, (as well as get the much-requested dark mode for the website enabled), but that’s just such so much work. If someone out there is willing to get paid a little bit and can prove to me that they have the knowledge with wordpress to get things looking better, just let me know.

Anyways, I’m not sure what else really needs to be said here. If any of you have alternative suggestions about things that I can do site-wise to spruce things up, let me know. I can also take a bit of time to add various missing things from the site such as cover pages to the TOC and PDF/EPUB download links that might not be there already, but I’ve never gotten many comments about that so I haven’t done so.

And yes I read every, and I mean EVERY comment. Sometimes it takes me a few days to read them. If you’ve never commented before, you’ll have to wait for me to manually accept them, and I’ll accept every comment as long as it doesn’t contain spoilers or slurs.

Anyways, look forward to more translations as time passes. Thanks to all the support from everyone to truly make this into a hobby I enjoy. I don’t think I’d have lasted this long without all of your support.

  1. We really appreciate the work and time you put on classroom of the elite. You don’t need to hurry up for volume 15 as I can tell that you might be busy with other things. I recommend to give quality translations over quantity which u won’t be able to do if u do it in a hurry. Thank you for the volume 14.

P.S : It’ll be great to add epub links for vol.14 asap

  3. As always, thank you for your hard work!

Regarding the long TOC page, my advice would be to hide each volume’s chapters so you’d only be able to see them if you click on a spoiler-like button. And tbh, some chapter titles actually give more information than is needed – although that might be in hindsight?

Looking forward to V15 nevertheless. Can’t wait!

    • The chapter titles are meant to give that information, given that the reader reads them before reading the actual chapter, so I’m okay with it I guess.

      • I understand but the issue lays with self-spoiling yourself by reading chapter titles from future volumes… Or even from the current volume for that matter. That actually happened to me while scrolling down looking for the epub links.

I personally never read the chapter list of any book since they can contain spoilers.

      • Well I guess. The reader is shown all the titles ahead of time with the TOC when reading so I don’t consider them spoilers personally.

  4. Thanks for the translations and your hard work! I started reading the Light Novel around 4 weeks ago and I am already caught up. Can’t wait for the V15! Just wondering, is there a time estimate when we can expect V15? If not then it’s fine.

  5. Thank you very much for the work you’ve put in for COTE TL. Without you, people wouldnt have the chance to witness Ayanokouji’s journey, his thoughts and the ups and downs within the story.

I didnt know that you manually moderate comments. Uhhhh that’s kinda interesting.

  6. Hey, I appreciate all the work you’ve been putting in on the translations. I’m really excited for the upcoming chapters.

I saw you mentioned that the directory was getting really long, and you’d like to spruce things up – maybe improve the UI perhaps? I’m a frontend software developer and my first thought was to put each volume into an accordion. If you aren’t sure what an accordion is just type “wordpress accordion” into google and click on any of those top links or videos and you’ll see what I mean.

Accordions can be closed by default and when you select the volume you’d like to view it will open up all of the relevant content.

Just one idea, but I’m sure there are many other good implementations out there that you’ll enjoy as well.

    Cheers.

  7. Hey graze, I saw your comment about dark mode on wordpress, although I do not personally use it I did a little google search and saw this website! https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-dark-mode/

It seems that it isn’t too difficult as its just simply a plugin (it also has a youtube video to show how to add it) that you need to add – you dont need to do anything else, and then the user can switch between dark mode and light mode as per their preference.

I appreciate all the work you put into translation for all of us, this is the first LN i’ve read and am enjoying the read a lot 🙂
